Chuck Zukowski, “Leading Active Cattle Mutilation Field Investigator in the United States!”

Google AI Mode question asked: Who is the most experienced active Cattle Mutilation field investigator in the US right now since Christopher O’ Brien’s death in 2024?

Google AI Mode response: Following the passing of Christopher O’Brien, Chuck Zukowski is widely considered the most experienced and active field researcher specialized in cattle mutilation in the United States.

Note: Christopher O’ Brien passed away in November of 2024. He was a Cattle Mutilation field investigator and writer with a couple of published books on this phenomenon. He was considered the leading Cattle Mutilation Investigator at that time. Some Internet search engines will still mention Linda Moulton Howe, but she’s not an active field investigator, she’s an investigative journalist. Now in her mid 80’s she appears to be focusing more on research and gathering information from field investigators, like me.

So, it appears (based on some Internet search engines) I’m the guy to go to when it comes to experience with the strange phenomena known as, Cattle Mutilations. Was this something I was working towards? Not really, when I lived in California years ago, I researched extensively Cattle Mutilation cases learning as much as I could in case, I ever had to run my own investigation. Well after moving to Colorado some 27 years ago, I worked my first case not long after moving there. Originally focusing on UFO sightings in the Pikes Peak region and San Luis Valley area, it wasn’t long until I rolled on my first mutilation investigation.

When I first started in the field of UFO Field Investigations, the “big ticket item” I worked on was the 1947 Roswell Crash Incident. From California I ventured into Roswell numerous times during planned family vacations and had the pleasure knowing Walter Haut who was the RAAF’s Public Information Officer. He issued the original press release back in 1947 that sparked the famous headline:

“RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region”

I also had the pleasure knowing Glenn Dennis who worked at the Ballard Funeral Home in 1947. He was the contact with RAAF’s base commanders who asked if he could acquire child size coffins. He also knew the RAAF nurse who provided him classified information which included Grey Aliens.

Note: For years there was a story going around that the “un-named nurse” had died in a plane crash or was stationed to another base in the US. After we became friends, Glenn told me the truth, the nurse stayed in Roswell out of the spotlight and was fine. Also, it was Glenn Dennis who gave me the GPS coordinates to the “Debris (aka Skip) Site”.

Well, I’m still very active in my Roswell investigations and if you’ve been following my website, then you know about the non-registered aluminum alloy tiny debris that I found there.

Absolute proof something did crash and skip at the Roswell Debris Site. Four labs in four different states all say the same thing, non-registered aluminum alloy. You can’t buy this alloy. Also, all four labs said the debris was stressed and appears to have come from something that exploded.

Pretty cool stuff.

Back to Cattle Mutilations. There have been some recent cases that I’m looking at, one that happened back in December 2025. After three months of contact with the Sheriff’s Department in that area, I was finally able to acquire their Case Report. My research up to that time included speaking with individuals in the area, and I was able to pin down the exact location where the animal was mutilated, and I know who the rancher is.

Now I believe the Sheriff’s Department is still holding back some information from me which includes photos taken by the deputy, but after much pestering, I was happy to get at least the case report, and for that I like to thank them. I’ve left messages to the rancher, but it appears he doesn’t want to speak with me and that’s ok. I’ve learned over the years I may only get enough information to prove it was a true mutilation case without directly speaking with the rancher. I really don’t blame some ranchers not wanting to speak with me, this is an area in which the ranchers are not accustomed to. Also, the press can be humiliating for the rancher and now with social media containing some loudmouth egotistical morons who get their “jollies” off insulting people, well, do you really blame the ranchers for not talking? So, I respect the ranchers wishes and even though I know who they are, I won’t release their personal information to the public without their approval. So, here’s what I can tell you about this case.

Wheaton, Pottawatomie County, Kansas, reported December 19th, 2025.
Mutilated cow found in a field near Wheaton Road and K-16 highway 1 mile south of Wheaton.

  • The animal was lying on it’s left side facing West to East.
  • Deputy learned the rancher had a good count of all the animals on noon December 18th. When he counted again on December 19th, he was short one animal and started searching for it and found the mutilated animal.
  • Deputy on scene observed the lower abdomen area where the udders would be, was completely removed.
  • The hide around from where the udders would be, appeared to have been cut consistent with a sharp knife.
  • The cuts to the hide were smooth and showed no jagged edges.
  • Deputy: “I was unable to determine how the animal had died”.
  • The rancher initially contacted his veterinarian who then advised him to contact the Sheriff’s office because the wounds were suspicious. The veterinarian also contacted the Attorney General’s office.

    Attorney General’s office? That’s unusual.

(Agent name on file) from the Attorney General’s office arrived on scene and looked at the animal’s wounds. He peeled back the hide on the face of the animal looking for injuries but was unable to locate any.

Note: The case report states wounds plural but only mentioned the udder. It also states the Agent from the Attorney General’s office peeled back the hide on the face looking for injuries. This leads me to believe maybe the face was cut too but not mentioned in the case report.

By not releasing any pictures to me, all I know is the udder area was completely removed. The following picture is from one of my previous cases that shows the udder area removed due to a mutilation.

The following map gives you an idea where the location of the mutilation was. I have the exact coordinates of the location on file.

The triangle is the area of the mutilation, and the rectangle is the area of a water source. Every one of my cases the mutilations occur near a water source. Some ranchers I’ve spoken with over the years have seen strange Balls of Light hovering over water or following nearby streams and rivers before and after mutilations take place. It appears they like water and my theory is hydrogen. I’ve written about this theory many times on this website.

This case is still on-going pending me acquiring pictures of the mutilation and hopefully speaking with the rancher.

Another case I’m still having difficulty with is the April 2023 Madison County, Texas Cattle Mutilation Case, which occurred on April 19th. At least six mutilations took place. To this day the Madison County Sheriff’s Department refuses to return my phone calls and emails asking for the case report. They pretty much are shutting me out. Now, when the mutilation occurred, I got the chance to speak directly with the investigative deputy, (name on file) and we traded a lot of information. The deputy told me about the investigation, and I informed the deputy about what I learned about my mute cases. Everything was going great until someone shut the door on all information.

As of today, that door is still shut but… I have some contacts in that area and now that I live in Texas, I’m going to visit that area. It’s a bit far from me, but I’ll get there so I can examine the area myself and speak with my contacts in that area. You see there’s more going on there than what they’re telling us.

My next blog will discuss what I’ve learned about the April 2023 Madison County, Texas Cattle Mutilation Case. Too much to include in this blog.

In conclusion, Animal Mutilations are still occurring across the U.S.

– Unusual death of animal, based on rancher experience.
– Unusual damage on animal, precise surgical cuts.
– No signs of “loss of blood”, average cow has 5 to 10 gallons of blood depending on the breed.
– No signs of “predator damage”.
– No signs of “immediate scavenger” damage.
– No signs of “human” evidence causing the damage.
– Animal moved from original location to some unknow location where the mutilation takes place, then brought back near the location where it was picked up.
– Always some type of water source nearby.

Since 1967, an estimated over 10,000 mutilations cases have occurred. Out of all those cases that were investigated by law enforcement:

  • No one has been caught!
  • Tried or convicted!
  • Never any human or predator evidence found!
