UFOnut is now a Trademark
UFOnut is a Colorado Limited Liability Company (LLC) and the UFOnut Tradmark is a Class 45:
Investigation, research, and consultation related thereto in the field of UFOs and the paranormal. SER. NO. 88-745,148
It’s official! I own the word “UFOnut”! Well at least I own it in any country that abides by the United States Trademark laws. A lot of publications use “ufo nut” which is fine because it’s two separate words, but for now on, if they combine them into one word, “UFOnut” and do it without my permission, then oh oh, they’ve violated US Trademark laws.
What is trademark infringement?
*************************************
(Legal Stuff)
USPTO: Trademark infringement is the unauthorized use of a trademark or service mark on or in connection with goods and/or services in a manner that is likely to cause confusion, deception, or mistake about the source of the goods and/or services.
A trademark owner who believes its mark is being infringed may file a civil action (i.e., lawsuit) in either state court or federal court for trademark infringement, depending on the circumstances. However, in most cases, trademark owners choose to sue for infringement in federal court. Even when a plaintiff chooses state court, it may be possible for the defendant to have the case “removed” to federal court.
If the trademark owner is able to prove infringement, available remedies may include the following:
- a court order (injunction) that the defendant stop using the accused mark;
- an order requiring the destruction or forfeiture of infringing articles;
- monetary relief, including defendant’s profits, any damages sustained by the plaintiff, and the costs of the action; and
- an order that the defendant, in certain cases, pay the plaintiffs’ attorneys’ fees.

I’ve been known as the UFOnut since the 1990’s, and my website UFOnut.com has been active since about 2000. I started referring to myself as UFOnut, because that’s what people originally called me, a UFO nut. Instead of getting mad, I decided to roll with it and since then, it’s helped me get in touch with 1000’s of people who have had personal experiences.
I had the name put on my California license plate and have it now on my Colorado license plate including UFO BKR on my Harley and UFO LAB on my travel trailer. I sometimes get smiles or the common, Spock hand sign, when people drive past me, so I’m always happy to see that.
We UFO nuts need to stick together because there are a lot of people out there who actually think we’re crazy. Hell all they need to do is go outside in remote areas and see for themselves, but me thinks they’re too chicken. They’ll eventually figure out what we already know.
Just remember, if you refer to yourself as a UFO nut, then please use two words not one, because; I am, the one and only, ” UFOnut! “
thank you, thank you….. 🙂
