UFOnut – Episode 006: Rush Horse Mutilation
Posted by mmorgan on August 29th, 2010This is one of the most interesting cases Chuck Zukowski and the UFOnut team has investigated. Two horses were mutilated in Rush, Colorado at the Utopia Ranch owned by Glenda and Mike Schneider. A third horse and dog were also said to be involved in the event because of the wounds found on them after the incident. The UFOnut team will be doing further investigating on this case and this part of Colorado with the witnesses and other stories about the area.

Syfy “Fact or Faked” “Solved Sanchez 2006 Mutilation Case!” Bloating! (If the animal was a Chamois)
Posted by zukowski on August 20th, 2010The August 19th airing of Syfy’s new show “Fact or Faked” touched base on one of my cattle mutilation cases here in Colorado, the Sanchez case which can be read in detail on this website. Upon viewing my segment, the show constantly misused information that both I and rancher Sanchez had given them, and this attributes to nothing more than lack of experience. Theirs not mine. The show is weak in getting the correct information across to the viewers and they seem to be pretty good at it. They constantly mention four mutilations occurring within one month. What they fail to mention is Manual Sanchez had four mutilations on his ranch alone within a three week period. His fourth was the one I investigated and that was the information I gave them for this show. I also investigated two more cases within March, then another one in November and yet another in December. A total of five for me for 2009. Oh a quick note before I go further.
I would like to apologize to rancher Sanchez, I had no idea I was dealing with such inexperienced people.
I regretted helping Base Productions with this episode from the get go. That’s why it was not posted on my website. When they first contacted me, all they wanted was information to pitch their show to Syfy. I was very suspicious of their intentions, but like an idiot I didn’t listen to my other investigator friends telling me to shy away from these guys. So, why did other investigators warn me about Base Productions? Well Bob Kiviat is involved with Base Productions. Remember Bob from Alien Autopsy? I know, I know…
Note to all production companies who contact me in the future about any of my previous investigations: I won’t be so gullible or so easy to just give out free information now. You can thank our buddies at Base for this. Lesson learned.
Note to any viewers who watched the show: The picture shown at the very beginning and all through the episode of the full size mutilated cow is not my picture, but Mr. Sanchez’s. It depicts his first mutilated cow from 2006 and not my case in 2009. Confusing huh?
Well to say the least, the episode was very confusing even to me and I was there! Geeesh. Are they trying to solve the 2006 mutilation or the 2009 case I investigated? Paddle handling back and forth between the two mutilations, for a minute there I thought I was watching, “Balls of Fury”. Oky Doky Artichoky!
I’m not going to say anything negative about Bill, Chi-Lan, or Larry, the three investigators working on my case. Well at least not yet. All three were very professional to me, but I realized when I met them, they really didn’t know who I was nor were they familiar with my investigations. Good investigators will at least do some research before they go out on assignment. Maybe Google my name next time guys.
Ok, so let’s look at their investigation.
First I take the team to the site where rancher Sanchez is waiting. They ask me where the calf was laying and I show them. At that moment the episode cuts to showing a picture of the 2006 mutilation and not the 2009 calf mutilation. Why? I don’t know! Then Syfy investigator Chi-Lan asks me to describe the calf I investigated explaining the complete missing center section. This doesn’t make sense when they keep showing pictures of a completely different animal. Now they ask the rancher if he’s seen anything strange in the area, and he describes the strange light sighting he had a couple of months prior to the mutilation. This amazes them as the camera pulls in tight for that “hmm” thought.
The F’ team (that’s how I’ll refer to the Syfy team from now on) decides to Ground Sweep the area for EMF and radiation detection. I did both of these tests back in 2009. Of course they knew this because it was in my notes I gave them with all my investigative pictures. You’ll see the pictures I gave them later in the show, it’s the photo binder in their hand when they’re talking with the veterinarian. Next the F Team finds a bone from one of the calves from 2009. All they had to do was ask where the bones were. Rancher Sanchez and I could see bones everywhere and even pointed it out to them. Oh well it played out nicely for them on TV.
F Team Bill mentions that skeptics believe mutilations are either a man made hoax or a natural predator attack. The team incorporates the expertise of a veterinarian to help them with a little experiment. Let’s talk about the veterinarian for a moment.
The veterinarian they had was acquired on short notice and she traveled out from New Mexico. Negotiations with the local vet they were originally speaking with fell through. Why did I know this? Because I talked with him. Originally one idea was to have the vet debate me on camera about why I think these mutilations are unknown deaths. I didn’t like that idea and didn’t want to trash anyone on camera. I respect the vets working in the area, and welcome their opinions. So I called the vet and we had a nice chat over the phone. Anyway negotiations fell through with him, and Base Productions had to bring another veterinarian in, Dr. Amy Mason from New Mexico.
When I briefly met Dr. Amy her first words to me were, “Let’s see if I can figure this out”. I told her that remark was an insult to all investigators and law enforcement individuals across the world trying to solve these strange deaths since 1967. She was a little confused with my compassion so I started showing her pictures of my previous cases explaining my findings. She became very interested.
The F team performs a “Mutilation Replication Test”. This was interesting. They had Dr. Amy use an electro-cauterizer on an animal they brought out from Denver. Why? Because Bill states on the edge of the incision (in the 2006 picture I guess) there appears to be burn marks. He’s pretty good making that statement from a picture and non-investigative case. So he wants to try to mimic the results. Results? Who made the claim the 2006 animal had burn marks around the incision? Well as you guessed, the cauterization technique doesn’t work for the experiment.
Have you ever heard of a predator making these types of cuts? This question was asked by F Team member Chi-Lan to Dr. Amy during their experiments. Dr. Amy is on top of her game and states, “Usually predator kills will show claw marks and bite marks and teeth marks, and you’ll see where they have left tracks and trails.”
Next the F team has Dr. Amy use a heavy duty hand held green laser to try and make surgical cuts. Do we have field surgical battery operated hand held lasers which can cut through leather coats? I don’t think so. Next they try a knife and a scalpel. Well the good Dr. Amy states, “ The carcass was completely cleaned out, void of any meat, any organ material, any vessels. You know I don’t believe any person would be able to do that.” Yep she turned to the dark side.
“If people aren’t doing this, maybe it’s a result of animal attacks” F Team investigator Bill says. So they decide to leave the carcass outside over night hoping for scavenger damage so as to compare with the 2006 photo.
F Team Chi-Lan then states, “San Luis Valley has had five cases of UFO sightings reported since 1996”.
This is just wrong and she didn’t do her home work or whoever did the homework for her is just lazy. We get numerous sightings every year out of the San Luis area. All they had to do was contact the UFO Watch Tower in Hooper and talk with Judy, or Rick Nelson with Paranormal Research in Denver who had a sighting when I was with him last year, or Stan Romanek who had a sighting during mine and my sister’s lecture at the tower. Or how about just asking the residents there? Hey that’s an idea. Two sightings occurred just last year associated with my cattle mutilation investigations, Duran and Sanchez! Once again a non-investigator making investigative claims.
Oh, and of course this makes her think there there could be a coloration between mutilations and lights in the sky. Well at least five of them.
Night Investigation: The F team sets up multiple night vision cameras in hopes of capturing a scavenger feeding off their carcass, or maybe even capture a real cattle mutilation. They also point one camera towards the night sky just in case a UFO happens to mosey over. Oh by the way “Infrared cam 4” in front of the car looking up towards the sky. I did a quick star chart check for March/April when they filmed. It looks as though they pointed the camera to the right of Ursa Major. Anyone want to take a guess? They really needed to use a wide angle lens for this shot or do what I do. Point a night vision video camera down into a mirror which is reflecting the night sky from horizon to horizon. This technique gives you a large field of view rather than a couple of stars. But why listen to me, I’m just a UFOnut investigator without my own TV show doing real investigations.
So here is their big theory. They didn’t capture anything paranormal with their meters, and their veterinarian couldn’t mimic the surgical-like cuts with the procedures she ran, but their night vision did film a bird scavenging off of their dead cow. So maybe mutilations are a more natural occurrence. Here we go.
Bloat Test: They told me about this one and I just laughed and casually walked away pretending to talk to myself. I didn’t answer myself, just posed idiotic questions. One of the theories obtaining the precise incisions on mutilated animals is due to natural bloating of the animal after death. So how do they achieve this experiment? They use a chamois (consumer grade cow hide) covering a balloon which they filled with air.
Note: A consumer grade chamois goes through a chemical tanning process which enables the hide to deliver maximum absorbency and durability.
The balloon inflates and the chamois stretches along an edge which appears to have pre-puncture marks until it rips. Result? It rips! Oh happy day, they achieved a precise cut with this experiment. They solved the case! No seriously, they think they’ve solved it!
Now enter the F Situation Room: This is where the great minds of the Syfy investigative team congregate and discuss their findings while patting themselves on their backs. This is their findings from my 2009 case and the 2006 mutilation.
No trace of radioactivity where the cow was. (This pertains to the 2009 case and not the 2006 case which their experiments were based on. Why didn’t they go to the location of the 2006 mutilation and check for radiation? Oh I know why? Because they didn’t think about it!)
They found a single bone under the tree, had it analyzed and it was just a cow bone, nothing unusual. They really didn’t state what exact tests they performed to do the analysis on the bone.
They tried to replicate mutilations with their own dead cow, and that didn’t work. (Really? Did they think they were the first to try this? Once again they didn’t do their homework.)
They pointed night vision cameras toward the carcass, catching evidence of bird scavenging. Thus viewing natural Mother Nature type causes.
Next the chamois test: Yeah this was their “smoking gun” test, and they also get to use it on their “Hero Mobile”. Really, that’s how they referred to the vehicle they were driving.
Analysis? The 2006 case is a natural phenomenon with the surgical incisions on the side of the face, neck and upper body being attributed to animal bloating. The case is closed.
Nothing was said about my 2009 investigation in which I gave them more information than they needed to perform an adequate experimental analysis.
My analysis? The F Team are inexperienced people who muddle around competing with each other to be on camera. Yeah I noticed this first hand. Yep they’re incompetent and viewers shouldn’t be wasting their time watching the show unless it’s part of a beer drinking game. Ok, here are the rules of the game. You take a drink every time the F Team do or say something unprofessional during the show. The problem with this game is you might be drunk before you get five minutes into the program. In which case I would turn the channel and watch South Park. Why? Because South Park makes more sense!
Now you can decide for yourself. The following picture is from the 2006 Sanchez mutilation. This is Manual Sanchez’s picture not mine, please give him credit for it!
Look how the F Team’s analysis of bloating could rip the skin from the jaw and the neck area. Oh by the way, where’s the skin flap? If bloating rips the skin then where did the excess skin go to? Oh I know, chamois!
Well you decide and please state your comments. If you like the show, then you can comment too! We won’t delete them. (notasfarasyouknow)

CRESTED BUTTE COLORADO CATTLE MUTILATION 08/2010
Posted by zukowski on August 13th, 2010On Monday August 2Nd UFOnut.com received the following sighting report from Whitney Ellis. (Permission was granted to use Whitney’s name, location of investigation and ranch ownership of animal is not publicized at this time pending the rancher’s approval)
Name: Whitney Ellis
Comment:
Today, August 1, 2010 at 11:00AM upon entering the (censored) trail in Crested Butte, my boyfriend and I discovered a dead cow some distance from the trail head. We wandered to investigate the cow carcass expecting to find evidence of a wild animal attack but rather we discovered a bizarre and unnatural sight. The brain and ear of the cow appeared to have been removed (through surgical methods) and there was evidence of anal inflammation. No animal markings, blood or predator tracks were to be found. Additionally the cow was lying on its back in a stiff shocked position. * I have vivid photographs* the cow seemed to have been left undiscovered. The remainder of the herd left the cow alone until two hours later, upon completion of our hike; we found the herd surrounding the dead cow.
I want to emphasize that I’m not a veterinarian, rancher or sheriff. I was not able to examine the animal, so I could be wrong about my observations, specifically the removal of the brain, I am quite certain that the ear was removed. I have notified the local police station.
(end of report)
Note: First I would like to thank Whitney for not only taking the initiative to investigate a dead animal that so many others either missed or didn’t care to examine, but also for researching and reporting the sighting to the UFOnut.com website.
Upon receiving the sighting report, I immediately contacted Whitney to discuss her discovery. This investigation is quite different than the other cattle mutilation cases I’ve investigated, and the big difference is, “This one is an eye witness initiated investigation”. The other cases were initiated by the ranchers, so I had to pursue this one a little differently.
First, I needed to contact Whitney for a phone interview and pick up some necessary information.
Second, I needed to research the location of the animal and look for a history of mutilations in the area.
Third, I needed to contact the team and decide if we were going to do this investigation.
Fourth, I needed to contact the rancher for approval to run an investigation on the animal.
The interview with Whitney was quite interesting and I was delighted to learn that she is also a professional photographer so her vivid photographs were probably not so vivid. Her pictures helped me and the team make the decision to take the 3 hour trek to Crested Butte, Colorado to take a look at this animal.
There have been animal mutilation stories coming out of this part of Colorado, but nothing recently and nothing I’ve ever investigated, so we were eager to see this one. One of my main concerns about doing cases like these are whether or not it’s an actual mutilation, or unknown death. As Whitney stated in her sighting report, she’s not a rancher which would make her unfamiliar with normal cattle deaths due to poisons, viruses, or predators, but she is a concerned eye witness which makes up the majority of reports we receive. Animal mutilation investigations can be a “crap shoot” so to speak, by gambling with your time, resources and expenses. I wasn’t completely prepared for this case because I couldn’t get the information I needed to contact the rancher. Some initial information gathered put the exact location of the animal on public access land so I wasn’t too concerned about trespassing. But without the rancher’s initial permission my investigation becomes more of a “visual investigation” only touching an animal if I feel there was foul play. If evidence of foul play was present, then it makes the death a criminal case in which the rancher and the local authorities would have to be notified. Because time is of the essence with mutilation cases, I had to see the animal as quickly as possible.
Locating the animal was a bit of a challenge, we were given directions from the eye witness and wouldn’t have the luxury to be shown the location in person. Being unfamiliar with the area and hiking trails, we… well… we got lost. Oh we knew we were in Colorado, and hopefully still in the Crested Butte area, but “Where was that damn cow?” Sounds like a reality show. Ok, note to all you up and coming investigators out there. Find the actual site first and then carry all your investigative gear out there. Don’t do what I did and carry your gear hiking through the woods for more than 2 hours while looking for a cow which was actually 5 miles away. Oh the woes of being an investigator, at least it was a pleasant day’s hike. (I’m lying of course)
The following information is from my investigative notes:
Eye witness’s friend did not see the animal at this location during a hike on Saturday 07/31/2010.
Eye witness spotted the animal on Sunday 08/01/2010.
Eye witness contacted UFOnut website sightings report and was contacted on Monday 08/02/2010.
Investigation initiated on Tuesday 08/03/2010.
Type, age, weight, and medical history of animal: These particular stats are unknown without further communication with the rancher.
Animal was bloated and gas was released when rolled over (ok, it farted and it wasn’t pleasant).
Animal legs were in an unusual position and did not appear damaged. Normally the animals are laying on their left or right side; this one had its legs pointing up towards the sky. One explanation could be the bloating of the animal and the curvature of the land it was lying on. As the animal bloats (like a balloon) the animal could roll if on a slight incline.
There was no evidence the animal was dropped from any height.
Tail was removed leaving a stub. This could be scavenger damage because noticeable tail hair was seen nearby.
Animal was approximately 7 foot 5 inches from tip of nose to tail stub.
Estimated girth was 5 foot 8 inches.
Head length from tip of nose to lower jaw bone curve was 14 inches.
Estimated length of legs approximately 2 feet 6 inches.
Lower teeth were clean and not broken.
Tongue appeared to be missing.
Round circular hole in anal area approximately 11 x 5 inches. Not sure if original damage was of unknown origin, but it did appear to have slight scavenger damage by the time we saw it.
Small circular damage on stomach area due to bird scavenging. We viewed this.
Circular damage where right ear used to be approximately 9 x 4 inches.
Right eye damaged due to bird scavenging.
Left eye undamaged due to animal lying on left side.
Left ear was present with ranch tag attached.
EMF testing across body of animal yielded around 8 to 10 microteslas. This has been consistent with other mutilation cases I’ve investigated.
EMF testing near unusual circular damage on right side yielded 4 to 6 microteslas.
Hand held Metal detector sweep of entire animal showed no signs of metal detection.
I was unable to use my field metal detector due to damage sustained during transportation. I would normally sweep the ground around the animal looking for any type of anomalies.
Compass check showed no signs of unusual magnetic fields.
Animal was laying approximately 275 degrees towards the West, nose first.
The animal was lying in the center of a circular damaged grassy area. The eye witness reported seeing other cows circling the dead animal for a short period of time. This is interesting.
Circular incision on right side including the ear. Some hide is seen where the upper ear used to be.
Picture of mouth showing little damage and lack of a tongue.
Summary of investigation (pending further information):
This mutilation case is an interesting one. First it was initiated by an eye witness who took the time and went the extra mile to research and finds this website to report her sighting. Thank you Whitney. Second, I tried and couldn’t get in touch with the rancher before the investigation was initiated. I like to have the rancher or a representative from the ranch meet me at the location and observe my investigation. This way I can ask questions and answer any questions they may have during the investigation. I can also learn more about the history of animal. Third, because I wasn’t able to speak with the rancher before the investigation, I only performed a visual investigation on the animal only moving it once looking for possible gunshot entry and exit wounds.
When we finally located the animal we saw it was lying in an area where the general public has complete access. The animal was lying in the center of a circular impression at least 50 yards from the closest access trail. Upon walking up to the animal we viewed birds scavenging off the animal and noted the areas they were feeding from. The smell of the dead animal was not that overwhelming which seemed to coincide with a recently deceased animal within the time frame the witness had described.
Upon inspection of the circular wound on the right side of the head I was concerned it could be trauma due to a fire arms wound. I checked closely into the wound looking for any type of bone fragments or splintering of the skull due to bullet impact. I saw none. I took the initiative to flip the animal over to check for a possible entry or exit wound and noticed the animal tag located on the left ear. There were no signs of possible bullet damage.
Upon inspection of the mouth area no tongue was noticeable. Previous mutilation investigations I have worked on have had some cows with tongues and some cows with the tongues removed. Because I didn’t have the rancher’s permission to proceed further, I was only able to perform a visual inspection of the mouth.
The team was able to speak with some of the local residents and was informed that a bear had been seen off in the distance earlier that day. The bear obviously picked up on the scent but was unable to venture closer to the animal probably due to the abundance of human traffic on the trail nearby. There were no signs of bear or predator kill evidence on the cow or near the scene. Either way we didn’t want any unwanted visitors helping us with our investigation so we picked up the pace.
Summary:
The following day Wednesday 08/04/2010, I contacted the law enforcement agency within that area and talked with the police chief. (Agency name withheld at this time). He told me due to Whitney’s report he sent an officer to check on the animal. The officer reported back that it was his assumption the animal died of Monks Hood poisoning. Monks Hood is a weed which when eaten can be deadly to animals. Symptoms of the poisoning include bloating and paralysis which was seen on this animal. The officer also reported the cavity on the right side of the head was probably due to the rancher removing the ear to retrieve the tag. I informed the Police Chief the tag was located on the left ear, and there would be no reason for a rancher to cut into the skull of an animal to retrieve a tag, and (oh by the way) the tongue was also missing. I promised to send my investigative report and all my pictures to his department if a criminal case is opened in the future.
After repeated times calling and leaving messages with the ranch, I was finally able to speak with a family member associated with the ranch. They were not aware of the animal’s death and, while upset, expressed appreciation for the work we did and for reporting the dead livestock. I gave them the ear tag number so they could trace the cow. I asked if they could send someone out to the site and look at the animal first hand and verify my findings, and then get back to me. At this time they have not returned my phone calls.
I’m not going to speculate the reasoning why I’m having such a difficult time communicating with the ranch; it may be nothing more than playing simple phone tag. In some cases, the ranch owners are not always present year-round. Others are also worried about the ‘giggle factor’ when it comes to being associated with a paranormal investigation, no matter how seriously it’s taken by my team and the public that wants to understand what’s going on in these cases. Nevertheless, I am persistent and will eventually talk with someone there. After I get their point of view on this matter I will release an up-dated blog. If they give me permission to release video of the investigation, then that will be released too! So at this time this is what I have to offer about this investigation.
Let it be noted that regardless of the outcome, we need to document these cases looking for any possible patterns. Still being fairly new to these investigations with now six under my belt, I still like playing the skeptic and not jump to any preliminary conclusions. I release the information and then let the readers communicate their personal opinions. Remember, cattle mutilation cases have been going on since the late ‘60’s with no one person being caught, tried or convicted. Police agencies not only across the US but in other countries have taken reports, investigated and have not been able to locate the culprits. These are real-life cold cases and are criminal acts regardless if they are human or even alien initiated. At this time I have seen no evidence of alien intervention, but I have seen evidence of extremely intelligent intervention. More intelligent than your run of the mill animal predators.
Of course if Yogi traded in his picnic basket for a degree in medical science, then all bets are off.

Roswell Festival 2010
Posted by zukowski on July 9th, 2010(Me, Debbie, and Alejandro Rojas)
This year’s Roswell Festival started out with a toast. A toast not only to this years speakers, but a toast to all the people who made the trek to experience Roswell at its best. Roswell is nice to visit on the “off” season, that would be anytime outside of the July 4th weekend, I just enjoy the July 4th season the most. It’s a good time to visit my friends in Roswell and also rub elbows with other friends who work the lecture circuit. Oh, the fireworks are awesome too!
There’s always plenty to see and do during the festival. Most festivals only sport one lecture series, this one sports three.
Ancient of Days : War of The Worlds, at the Roswell Public Library.
The Roswalien Experience 2010, at the International UFO Museum and Research Center.
Roswell, UFO, & New Mexico: 1947 & Beyond Roswell UFO Symposium, at the Roswell Museum and Art Center.
(Debbie in front of our booth)
Debbie and I spoke at the Roswell Museum & Art Center. This event is hosted by the city of Roswell and the one we generally lecture for. All three are good sources to gather different blends of information, and all three give the city’s visitors plenty to choose from. The picture above is our speaker table where we hung around from time to time to answer questions. We also gave out candy goodies to entice passer-bys to stop and say hi. Yep, we bribe them.
(Jesse Marcel Jr co-hosting the Roswell UFO Hall of Fame Inductions)
Jesse was just a young boy when his father woke him and his mother late one night and showed them unusual looking debris. The strange looking pieces of metal were gathered by Jesse Sr. and Sheridan Cavitte at the Foster Ranch crash site. Jesse Sr. and Sheridan were under direct orders from the Roswell Army Air Force Base to retrieve samples of the debris and bring them back to the base. Jesse Jr. never thought that one late night adventure would forever change not only his life but the lives of so many others. Check out the video on this website, “08.02.09 – Episode 002: Return to the Roswell debris Site.” The video shows me and Debbie taking Jesse Jr. to the debris site for the first time in his life. This was the location where Mac and his son Vern originally found the debris which later was shown to Jr. by Sr. It was an honor escorting him out there and being able to share that experience with him.
Two new “UFO celebrities” were added to the Roswell UFO Hall of Fame during the second annual induction ceremony on Friday, July 2nd. Two good friends of mine, Jesse Marcel Jr. and Peter Robbins, co-hosted the event which paid tribute to Paul Davids and Stanton Friedman (who was able to sneak away from his lectures.) The first inductee in July of 2009 was Jesse’s dad, Major Jesse Marcel Sr.
Paul Davids, a world renowned filmmaker, is best known “In Roswell” for being the executive producer for the 1994 movie, Roswell. This movie was nominated by the Golden Globe Awards as one of the five best television movies of 1994. Definitely my favorite, this movie included well-knowns as, Dwight Yoakam and Martin Sheen. Probably one of the best movies which depicted the events of 1947 so accurately.
Stanton Friedman… what can I say about Stanton except for referring to him as the “Father of Roswell”. Stanton re-generated the Roswell incident. If it wasn’t for him, there probably wouldn’t be a festival. In 1978 Stanton located and interviewed Major Marcel, Jesse’s father. Within just two years after that, over 62 eyewitnesses were located, thus changing Stanton’s life from then on. And it’s still changing today. With new information at every one of his lectures, Stanton is always a pleasure to see and experience.
(Travis Walton and Debbie)
Travis Walton is known for the November 5th, 1975 UFO incident in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona. After seeing an unusual craft from a pick-up truck with the logging crew he was with, Travis jumped from the truck and ran closer to the object. Why? I keep asking him that when I see him. His response? “I wanted a better look”. Well he got one. Struck down by a beam of light, then taken by the occupants of the craft, Travis was gone for five days. The book and movie ”Fire in the Sky” depicts the events of those horrific days. Travis’s updated version of the book adds a chapter which includes information not in the movie. It also talks about incidents in the movie which never happened. Just Hollyweird crap, not like they needed to add anything to the movie to make it more interesting. It’s always fun seeing Travis which gives us time to play catch-up and make fun of the other speakers. Like Alejandro. heh heh
(Hines House, Foster Ranch near debris site)
This year like all previous years included a trip to the debris site. Last year, as I mentioned, we escorted Jesse Marel Jr. and this year we took our good friends from Open Minds Magazine: Alejandro, Tom, and Maureen. Watching Alejandro walk around the desert while taking in the whole environment, I asked him what his theory was on the Roswell incident. He said, “It was just a weather balloon”. So we left him there. Oh we gave him a bottle of water, an energy bar and some sun screen. I’m sure he’ll be alright.
I’m just kidding, he doesn’t really think it was a weather balloon… but we still left him there anyway. He talks too much and it’s a long drive. ;-)
Going out to the debris site is not about taking other investigators out there and acting all important, it’s about documenting environmental changes which have occurred at the archeology site. Earth, Wind and Fire (not the band) is what we look at the most. Documenting the changes throughout the years we’ve been there, we watch how natural erosion contours the ground. This gives us a good idea how the landscape continues to change since that July night of 1947. Monitoring rain flow, fires, and high winds, we are starting to get a pretty good idea where the best place to excavate would be the next time we have the opportunity. And no, we don’t bring metal detectors or archeology equipment with us. It is BLM property and an active archeology site. Permits must be acquired to take anything from the site, and we’re all about doing it right. So far every artifact which came out of the area has been acquired legally and by the “proverbial archeology book.” The skeptics and debunkers have no ammunition to battle us with this one, so modern day science-1, debunkers-0.
Many thanks to all my friends and fellow investigator/researchers we met with at this year’s festival. Many thanks to the Open Minds Magazine crew for having very professional and fun people to hang with. Many thanks to the City of Roswell for inviting me and Debbie to speak, and many thanks to the UFOnut team, Matt and Trina, for being there to document not only our experiences but other peoples’ experiences too! More on that later, and it’s worth waiting for.
Also, a shout out to Robert Ridge, Dennis Balthaser, Cliford Clift, Richard Dolan and Guy Malone. Sorry I couldn’t touch base with you more.
Keep Lookin’ Up! (and towards Roswell)
